Authorities are actively pursuing leads in the aftermath of a severe motor accident that transpired in Poole, with a local man now under arrest.
The incident, which took place on Leicester Road, was reported to law enforcement at precisely 20:19 BST on Friday, 28th July 2023. The event saw the involvement of a blue Ford Fiesta colliding with two pedestrians.
A young woman in her twenties, hailing from Cardiff, was one of the pedestrians involved. She was conveyed to the hospital due to the severity of her injuries.
A man, aged 20, from Poole has been apprehended on charges of suspected driving offences and is currently under detention.
The immediate area was subjected to a temporary road closure to allow emergency personnel to safely manage the situation.
Leading the investigation, Police Sergeant Michael Burt, of the Roads Policing Team, issued an appeal: “We urge any eyewitnesses who have not yet shared their account with the police to please step forward. We also encourage motorists who were equipped with dashcams and may possess pertinent footage to aid our investigation to reach out to us.”
He also expressed gratitude to the public for their understanding and patience during the necessary road closure, which was crucial for an in-depth investigation.
