The Police are conducting an in-depth investigation into the death of a man who was found unconscious and injured several days ago.
On 20th July, following a welfare concern report, Dorset Police located the man at a residence on Hinton Road, Bournemouth. The individual passed away in the hospital this Monday. A post-mortem examination was carried out on Wednesday, 26 July 2023, and further tests are underway. The cause of death remains unexplained.
Three individuals have been detained under suspicion of inflicting severe bodily harm. The suspects, a 23-year-old woman and two men aged 39, all residents of Bournemouth, have since been released on police bail as the investigation progresses. The suspects were known acquaintances of the deceased.
Detective Inspector Mark Jenkins, part of the Major Crime Investigation Team, stated, “We are diligently investigating the circumstances that led to this tragic event and endeavour to comprehend the complete circumstances preceding the man’s unconscious state.” He appealed for any public assistance that might contribute to the ongoing investigation and aid in piecing together the events inside the dwelling.
Furthermore, he highlighted that the deceased might have previously lodged at the Russell Court Hotel on Bath Road from 12th to 19th July, requesting any guests who noticed anything unusual during that period to step forward. He acknowledged, “The incident may understandably disturb the local community. Rest assured, a thorough investigation is underway and local officers are readily available for anyone wishing to provide information or share concerns.”
